Prashap Limbu
is a Nepalese 1st year animation student who is currently studying at the University of Greenwich and primarily specialises in character illustration. Inspired dominantly by animated media, he began studying art seriously when he was 12 years old and his work initially leaned towards comic/manga art with heavy inspirations from mangakas like Hirohiko Araki and Takehiko Inoue. Overtime, he has explored a variety of different mediums and art styles which shifted his interests from the comics industry to the general creative industry. Beyond character illustrations, he also specialises in storyboarding and has been involved in multiple animation productions as a storyboard artist which include projects that have taken place within his University such as the ‘International Holocaust Memorial day’. Along with being an experienced storyboard artist, he has experience doing logo design for clients(with examples such as the UCL Nepalese Society Logo and Bryan Combat Club) and has independently created artwork regularly with one being exhibited in the University of East London and another being virtually exhibited at the Young Artist’s summer show 2022 after being chosen by the Royal Academy of Arts.
Project: The Rapidly Changing Digital Identity
Limbobobo is a chibi character avatar that I have grown to represent myself often in digital spaces. He originally was a ‘Roblox’ avatar that I had grown attached to but I’ve since developed further into his own character that transcends beyond the game, I originally created him in. The design was heavily influenced by the different interests and likes that I had when I was young along. For example, the clothing chosen was the type of clothing I used to prefer, the hat-hair combination was inspired by Jotaro’s hat-hair design aspect, the design was predominatly black and blue as that was the colour scheme I used to lean towards due to the tron films and the mask and glasses combination was heavily influenced by Gildedguy’s cancelled ‘Falcomaster3000’ series. Ultimately, the character represents the interests and likes I had when I was younger and I continued to develop it into a personification throughout the years.

The Digital Identity Of a Younger Mind: Limbobobo, the Goofy Sarcastic

The Digital Identity Of an Older Soul: Sunorae, the Forgotten Warrior.
Sunorae Kudotsuke was the first DND character I made. The character was heavily inspired by martial arts media such as ‘Sifu’, ‘the Fearless Hyena’, ‘Dragon Ball’, ‘Vagabond’ and ‘Samurai Jack’. Born in a martial arts monastery, Sunorae along with his younger brother Monofae have been sworn martial arts practitioners under the upbringing of their father who is the owner of the place. As he grew older, he slowly began realizing the truth about the harmful, toxic attitudes of his monastery that treats other martial art practitioners beneath them. In a mix of arrogance and anger, he rebels against the monastery but is overwhelmed, beaten and left estranged by his own family where he is left to roam the lands as a lone wanderer.
Overtime, he takes an interest in farming and settles down in a small village named Littlewood until he reignites his passion for martial arts after getting into a fight with someone who tried to steal his crops. When he hears news that the monastery he used to be in was set aflame with his family missing from the wreckage, he sets out on an adventure to improve his martial arts skills and find out what happened to his family.
This was the first fictional character that I had developed deeply to the point that it had created a life of its own. It has a martial arts focus and themes of rekindling passion because it was made around the time when I got back into doing physical activities such as martial arts. Through this character, I wanted to express that, no matter how long you haven’t practiced it, you can always pick up a dormant passion again.
